If you've scrolled past a TikTok of people in a fitness studio, sweat dripping and moving in perfect rhythm, chances are you've seen TFR Mat®.
TFR Mat® is the signature method at The Full Routine, combining weighted sculpt, classical mat pilates, and dance and into a HOT full-body workout. And the sweat? It comes from the infrared heat and the moving bodies within the room. Every class uses the same method, with each instructor’s flair and twist. That’s the short and sweet answer - here’s the full download.
What Is TFR Mat®?
TFR Mat® is a method, not just a class. Every session moves through three sections:
Arms - building upper body strength with hand weights and warming up the muscles in the heated room.
Classical Mat Pilates - controlled movements that traditional Pilates has always been known for, usually done on the mat.
Full-Body Shaping - cardio-driven choreography with ankle weights, layering dance and weighted sculpt into an effective full-body workout. Instructors might also bring in chairs, sticks, and other props.
It's the combination — not any single section — that makes TFR Mat® different from a standard mat Pilates class.
Why the Heat?
The heat makes your muscles warm faster and gets your heart pumping. Clients should come prepared with a water bottle, a large mat towel, a face towel if they want one, athletic shoes, and an open mind! The heat is a signature piece of the experience and is one of the best parts of the workout.
WHO CREATED TFR MAT®?
TFR Mat® was created by our founder, Cassie Parsons. Cassie has over thirty years of experience in the health and fitness industry, serving clients through Pilates, dance, personal training, and more. A true fitness guru and passionate for optimal living, Cassie recently navigated a season of change by embarking on a personal journey of self-discovery. It unveiled the life-changing benefits of habit stacks - creating a full routine and achieving desired results. Guided by her mission to empower others to do the same, Cassie created The Full Routine and its signature method, TFR Mat®. The Full Routine has since become a globally-recognized social media sensation, an industry-awarded company, and a rapidly expanding empire.
What DOES A TFR MAT® SESSION Actually Feel LIKE?
Walk into a TFR Mat® class and the first thing you'll notice is the music - it drives the whole session. Instructors cue choreography that flows directly into pilates sequences and sculpt work, letting you get lost in the rhythm while still working hard. It's common to spend your first few classes learning the method and how to pace yourself in the heat. Our studio is designed to meet you exactly where you are and challenge you to reach your full potential on the mat.
Who Is TFR Mat® For?
TFR Mat® is built for people who want a full-body, transformative workout that doesn't feel like one because they’re having that much fun. This could include dancers who want more strength training, pilates regulars who want more cardio, and anyone who's tried the solo gym routine and found it hard to stay motivated alone. Our in-class community is welcoming and motivating, and one of the strongest aspects of being at The Full Routine.

FAQ’s
Is TFR Mat® like hot yoga or regular mat Pilates classes? No. The room is heated, but the class is dance, mat pilates (just one section), and weighted sculpt - not yoga poses or holds. Think cardio and strength, not stretching and stillness.
Do I need Pilates or dance experience to try it? No experience is required! Classes are considered “all levels” and we encourage clients to take it at their own pace during their first class.
What should I bring to my first class? Athletic shoes, water, a towel (or two), and an open mind. The studio provides mats and weights.
Is TFR Mat® available outside of Orange County or Los Angeles? The Full Routine has studios in Newport Beach, Laguna Hills, and South Bay/Hawthorne, California, plus TFR On Demand for viewing anywhere. If you are interested in licensing the method to bring to your studio, let us know.
